Spock felt a little spike of something like frustration, and briefly reflected that he did not envy Doctor Watson encountering the feeling on so consistent a basis.

Still, he could not let the matter drop so easily. He sorted through his arguments and started with the one foremost in his mind, saying, "It would be illogical to expect that I would not support the man who is both my captain and my friend. I recognize that you do not know Jim as I do," he went on as Sherlock looked up from the microscope again, "but he has my respect and admiration. As such, I could not conscience any other choice, even in my compromised state."
